Rum Runner

We found this wreck in 2006 on a tip we received that consisted of a set of co-ordinates only. The team assembled at Oakville and took two boats out to the co ordinates. Chris Phinney and Chris Moore made an exploratory dive to see what could be found.

At the bottom of the shot line we first ran into the wreck of the Rum Runner and while exploring the debris field we ran into the Two Bits less than 100 feet away. These were a great find, two wrecks in one day!

Between the two wrecks but closer to this one, Chris Phinney spotted an alcohol bottle. Being that the vessel looked quick with two inboard V8 engines we decided to call this one "The Oakville Rum Runner" until her identity can be found.

There are no plans to survey this wreck as it apears to be one of many scuttled in 2005-2008 in this area.
