Two Bits

2006 Discovery
We found this wreck in 2006 on a tip we received that consisted of a set of co-ordinates only. The team assembled at Oakville and took two boats out to the co ordinates. Chris Phinney and Chris Moore made an exploratory dive to see what could be found.

At the bottom of the shot line we first ran into the wreck of the Rum Runner and while exploring the debris field we ran into the Two Bits less than 100 feet away. These were a great find, two wrecks in one day!

Through archival research and personal contacts we know this to be a former dive charter vessel that resided in the Midland / Cedar point area for many years. Hundreds if not thousands of divers were trained and transported on this wodden tug. Also revealed is this former Canadian Navy vessel was commisioned by.... more to come later.
